Concept of Sustainable Finance

Based on our management philosophy, Mizuho Leasing aims to create value we can share with all our stakeholders through business activities, and contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
The importance of initiatives for environmental and social issues continues to grow. In order to realize and further grow a sustainable society, the Mizuho Leasing Group has identified six high-priority material topics  to address from the perspectives of opportunities for and risks to society and our Group. We will promote initiatives for these material topics by integrating them into our business strategy, and advance our efforts toward sustainable finance from the funding aspect.

Sustainable finance refers to methods and activities that lead to the promotion of solving environmental and social challenges from the aspect of finance.
Against the backdrop of the increasing interest in SDGs, ESG, and decarbonization, the sustainability-conscious financing needs of various companies and organizations are growing.

Green Bonds

Green Bonds are bonds issued by companies or local municipalities in order to raise funds required for green projects (ones which have environmental improvement effects, such as renewable energy and energy saving business activities).
